A bit more Sorrento, then off once again. A stroll around the town and some rain (but not much!)

So.... my gripe this morning.... now then, some mornings I am quite cheerful really!!!..... anyway this morning I came to the conclusion that travelling with a very restricted wardrobe is another aspect of this holiday which is starting to piss me off. I think I have exhibited myself in pretty much every combination of garments which I managed to cram into my TINY case and as a result am now totally fed up with every single one of them!!!! How can this be I hear you cry..... all those of you that is,except the ones telling me to get a grip, as I am on the most amazing trip and should be grateful , not bloody moaning all the time.

And I know that is true, but, and it’s a BIG but....it’s nice to have an extensive choice of outfits to wear , currently I don’t , and it’s getting me down a bit , ok !!!! And it’s not as though I can buy anything new..... even though I could have replaced my whole wardrobe by now, such are the amazing clothes on offer in the shops here, because there is no f**king room to put anything else. I have toyed with the idea of shipping some stuff back to the UK, but then Dear Richard, ever the practical one..... sometimes a little too practical for my liking!!!! .....reminds me that we have a long way to go yet, and we are not at home for winter so why do I need new stuff and what I have looks fine anyway.....

and grudgingly I have to agree..... but this morning I struggled....OK!!!

We decided that today we would sunbathe again..... and I am happy to do this as the next leg of our trip involves beach time and I don’t want to pitch up on the first day looking like a white slug in the midst of beautiful brown bodies..... vain...... moi..... how can you suggest such a thing!!!! Of course I’m vain, and I know several other people (who shall

remain nameless) who would agree with me completely. One of whom has been known to go to extreme lengths in order to avoid the slug look on her holiday.

So off to the pontoons we went, we tried a different one today and were rewarded with a discount of two euros each on our beds..... so at lunchtime we pushed the boat out and had a couple of Aperolspritz, knowing that they would come with some snacks......they did, but they were nowhere near as substantial as the ones from the posh hotel. ..... however, they were enough to tide us over until dinner time.

After a shower and change back at Villa Rosa, that’s what the apparthotel was called by the way, we wandered into Sorrento for dinner.

Once you find your way into the older part of town you get lost in a maze of narrow streets lined on either side with shops selling anything from fruit and veg to pottery( garish, highly decorated and stupidly expensive!)or clothes(in this part of town stuff for tourists, a lot of linen which looks fab on the hanger but turns into a screwed up tea towel the first time you wear it!).Oh and of course Limoncello...... it’s bloody everywhere, in bottles, as sweets, as ice cream , as bubble bath..... you name it, they have flavoured something with it!!!! But people obviously buy it as a reminder of the holiday when they didn’t die at the hands of a mental moped rider..... I was surprised that it didn’t come out as a little after dinner liqueur in any of the restaurants we ate in......you know how that goes, you are already half cut and it tastes so lovely, so you buy a bottle, cart it all the way home, only to find it doesn’t taste half as nice on a chilly night in Margate as it did on that romantic evening in Sorrento!!!!

Dinner done.... and possibly a little tipsy again...( well I was..Dear Richard, having the constitution of a walrus requires considerably more in the way of alcoholic beverages than do I to reach this state!! )...... we made our way home and finished an open bottle that was in the fridge.... look we are leaving tomorrow and it’s hard to transport ok !!!!!

As we sat ..... inside due to the unwanted attentions of the bastard biters.......I am also getting fed up with going to bed smothered in the repellant spray...... not at all conducive to romance of any description!!!! ...we contemplated our next destination, hoping to heaven that it was going to be something more than a hovel!!! And then it started to rain....... and it absolutely hammered it down.....

I drifted off to sleep hoping that the entire population of small vampire insects would be drowned in the deluge, so that I would never have to spray myself with that disgusting lotion ever again......
